Samsung Galaxy J1 2016 Specifications
Super AMOLED Screen
The Galaxy J1 2016's Super AMOLED screen is one of the most noticeable changes to the Samsung Galaxy J1 original. This upgrade means that the touch capacity to interact with your phone is built into the screen itself, rather than put as a layer above the screen. The other benefit of using Super AMOLED is that it is far less reflective than previous AMOLED versions, which helps to be able to clearly see your phone's screen in the sunlight.
Size
Like other entry level phones, the Samsung Galaxy J1 2016 is by no means a large phone. The screen size measures at 4.5 inches diagonally, or the same size, for example, as an iPhone 5. The case of the phone measures in a 13.2cm long by 6.9cm wide, making it a good size to just slip into your pocket, unlike the larger sizes that are being touted by the more high end models.
The phone weighs in at just 131g, so it's not going to be an annoyingly heavy thing to lug around.
Colours
Like other models in Samsung's J series range, the J1 2016 comes in just three colours to choose from, gold, black, and white.
Inside The Phone
The phone is powered by a Samsung Exynos 3475 Quad Core 1.3GHz processor, and features 8GB of memory, with 4.3GB of this free for your own storage; the rest is taken up by system software. If this doesn't sound like enough storage to you, and to many people it will not be, then you don't need to worry, as the device comes fitted with a MicroSD slot. A MicroSD slot allows you to add in a MicroSD card that can hold as much as 128GB of memory.
You may need to do things like configure your phone to install apps to your SD card instead of phone memory to make this function work as intended.
The phone is shipped with Android Lollipop as the operating system.
Connectivity
You get all the usual connectivity that you would expect from a smartphone here, such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, as well as the more recent connectivity development, NFC or Near Field Communication. NFC is slowly becoming used as a way to make payments over swipeable surfaces, such as your PayPass terminal. The phone is 3G and 4G compatible, so you can access all of the main data networks across the country.
Long Battery Life
This is one thing about the J1 2016 that sees it stand out from its competitors. Its 2050mAH battery is up to double the capacity of some other smartphones at a similar target and price point. This means that you can keep using your phone for longer, without having to recharge as often. If you've ever purchased a cheaper phone only to find that it runs out of battery at least once during the day, then you'll know why this is a great thing to have.
The high capacity battery means that you'll get as much as 10 hours of LTE internet surfing, 11 hours of Wi-Fi surfing, or 14 hours of video playback.
The battery is also removable, which means that if you ever suffer issues with it, or find that it is no longer working as it should do, then you can replace it easily.
Accessories
The first thing to think about when you are accessorising your phone is how you are going to protect it from the elements as well as your own clumsiness! We often end up dropping or knocking our phones, due to not thinking, not being careful, or trying to do too many things at once.
This is why you should invest in a tough glass screen guard, to stop your phone's screen from smashing or cracking when you drop it. These guards are placed over the top of the screen to add a secondary tough barrier to resist chips and cracks.
You should also purchase a case to go with your phone such as a leather flip out case (we sell them in black, white, and pink) or a tough armour case, which is especially beneficial if you are a tradesperson out on site or if you have small children around that like to play with your phone.
For charging, you can pick up a secondary wall charger for the kitchen or office, because we all like to leave one by our bed at all times, or a car charger, for in car charging, or a powerbank, which can be used while on the go. A powerbank is a handy investment to make, and those who own them say that they've never looked back.
