Apple announced the iPhone 6S on the 9th of September 2015 and the iPhone 6S launch date was 25th September 2015.
The iPhone 6S has entered the building! The mid-cycle upgrade from the iPhone 6 features the same dimensions and screen size as the 6 but boasts new processor upgrades (faster apps and multi-tasking for you), a tougher aluminium frame, stronger glass and 12MP camera with 4K video recording capabilities, alongside a 5MP selfie camera with its surreal Live Photo capabilities. The phones come in the usual slate grey, gold and silver versions along with a new rose gold colour.
As for the iPhone 6S's most major upgrade? The 3D touch technology along with haptic feedback capabilities means the iPhone 6S has the ability to save us all a great deal of time when working with our phones. The short, medium, and hard presses are available to complete different actions, and the haptic feedback (a buzz felt under your fingertip) lets you know when you've made a correct action, or that it has worked.
Available in the 16GB, 64GB and 128GB versions, you can also pair it with iCloud storage from as little as $0.99 per 50GB of storage (remember, you'll need internet access to reach your files).
With its fingerprint recognition and ApplePay facilities we're fast coming to a point in time when cash, and even a credit or debit card are obsolete. There'll be no excuses for forgetting your wallet when it comes time to taking care of the bill!
The iPhone 6S has a comparative battery life to the iPhone 6, but there also haven't been any price hikes along the way: the outright prices for the phones are the same as what the iPhone 6 prices were on release too.
We're looking forward to seeing all the new capabilities of iOS 9 with the new range of Apple devices and can't wait to see what the faster processing means for doing more on our phones.
Accessories
There's a great range of accessories that you can pair with your new phone. To make the most out of your device pick up the following items and get your phone humming along perfectly:
Case
Protect your iPhone at all costs! These are thousands of cases on the market but you want to select one that will protect your phone for at least until your contract is up! For a funky design have a look through the Extreme Light case range featuring a luminescent backing. Another slick looking but protective design comes in the form of the OtterBox Symmetry case. For a great all-rounder in protection check out the OtterBox Commuter Cases and for the heaviest protection in the range go for an OtterBox Defender to shield your 6S in all conditions. If you're after something a little more classic and lightweight the PU made SwitchEasy Wrap cases also make a great viewing stand for YouTube videos.
Screen Protector
Grab an easy to install tempered glass screen protector to save your screen from cracks, scratches and shattering - the most common injuries we've seen in the iPhone hospital!
Data Cable
You'll no doubt have received a Lightning data and charging cable along with your iPhone 6S but there's always room for a spare. The cords joined to the Lightning cable have been susceptible to damage so it's useful to have a backup should yours fail.
Car Charger
If you own a car and spend a bit of time on the road you should pick up an MFI Lightning Car Charger. Being MFI certified means they're approved to Apple standards. Some chargers come with a dual USB port so you can even charge two devices at once. Look for a charger with 2.1 Amps to 2.4 Amps to ensure the fastest charge for your iPhone 6S.
Travel Charger
These chargers are designed for use in the home and in the office, plugged in at the wall. Again, choose an MFI certified charger. The higher the amps, the quicker your phone will charge.
Bluetooth Headset
If you're constantly juggling your phone while trying to do a million other tasks at the same time then pick up a Bluetooth Headset to connect to your iPhone 6S via Bluetooth. Slip the Bluetooth headset over your eat and chat away. These devices can work up to a range of 10m away from your phone.
Car Cradle
Navigate easily and charge your iPhone 6S at the same time by picking up a car cradle or dock holder. Affixed to the inside of your car it keeps your phone securely in place. Pair it with a Bluetooth headset if you're not a fan of chatting away in the car over speakerphone. If you add an antenna to your car your get a better signal for long range driving and navigation too.
If you're doing business through PayPal and need to get paid via credit card or debit card, pair this up with your iPhone 6S and you're in business.
Other accessories to pick up include Bluetooth car kit, emergency chargers, powerbanks and Bluetooth stereos.
