Android 10.1 Inch Tablet
Acer’s Iconia Tab A200 is a 10.1inch capacitive touch screen Android tablet that the Acer says is very affordable at $349.00 (after cashback). Although at this price there is no 3G connectivity and another noticeable omission is the lack of a rear facing camera although the front facing camera is a 2 megapixel camera.
The Iconia Tab A200 comes with Acer’s ring interface, a customisation of the Android OS, which lets you have direct access from the lock window to 4 user customizable applications.
The Acer Iconia Tab A200 has a 10.1inch screen like other tablets and utilises a Tegra 2 , 1GHz dual-core CPU and 1GB of RAM which is enough processing grunt to run all apps currently available in the Android market. As noted above the Iconia Tab A200 does not have 3G connectivity but does have GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth ans a 3.5mm audio jack.
The A200 comes with a full-sized USB port and a microSD card slot for extra memory which are both nice inclusions at this price.
Acer says the Iconia Tab A200 comes with company’s “ring interface”. This software allows users to set quick shortcuts to commonly used apps, as well as a screenshot feature which isn’t normally included on the standard Android Honeycomb software.
At launch the Acer Iconia Tab A200 will come with Google’s Android version 3.2 aka Honeycomb operating system. But Acer is said that they release an upgrade for the Iconia Tab A200 to Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich shortly.
