Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9
Telstra has launched the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, a 8.9 inch touchscreen tablet PC by Samsung, which is Australia’s first 4G tablet. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 allows users to surf the mobile web up to five times faster than on other devices while in 4G coverage areas.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 4G runs the Android 3.2 which will be upgradeable to 4.0 in the future. This Android tablet has an 8.9-inch capacative touch screen, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and has both front- and rear-facing cameras that are 3-megapixel and 2-megapixel cameras.
Using the Galaxy Tab 8.9 you can stream music and live HD video, you can be gaming on the go, and have access to the internet while you are out and about. Your movies, photos and media apps come to life in your hands display crisply on this compact, light and portable tablet.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is available in 16GB or 32GB memory options, which currently cost $720 for the 16GB version and $840 for the 32GB version.
Battery life as per the manufacturer’s claim is up to 8 hours of video playback on the go for the Galaxy Tab 8.9.
The web browser gives PC like web browsing, and being an Android tablet you are able to choose from heaps of apps to download from Android market. The Tab 8.9 is fully integrated with Gmail, YouTube and other Google apps and services as part of the Android OS.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is available in 16GB or 32GB memory options, which cost $720 and $840, respectively. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 is available on data plans and the device also being available on prepaid. The data plans range from $29 for 1GB of data to $89 for 15GB of data.
Telstra’s 4G network is available in all capital cities and in over than 80 regional and metropolitan centres. Telstra is rolling out its 4G network access the Australia, and states that the 4G network is capable of download speeds between 2Mbps and 40Mbps, while upload speeds are between 1Mbps and 10Mbps.
