PlayStation Vita sales have passed 1.2 million units globally following the console’s launch earlier this year. Software sales surpassed 2 million sales as well. The PlayStation Vita, Sony’s latest handheld mobile console is the successor to Sony’s PlayStation Portable and is currently on sale in Australia.
The PS Vita
The PS Vita is available in a WiFi only version or as WiFi and 3G version.The 3G version of the PlayStation Vita is supported by Vodafone. Vodafone are currently offering online ordering customers 1.5Gb of data per month and a free 4GB Vita memory card for online orders placed before 30/04/2012.
The PS Vita incorporates social networking applications that allow users to connect with other gamers. The PS Vita has a 5 inch OLED screen, physical PlayStation gaming buttons, dual analogue sticks, motion sensor, front and rear cameras and a rear touch pad. The Vita does not have a removable battery or support video output.
PlayStation Vita owners also have the ability to connect to the PlayStation Network, which is Sony’s digital entertainment on demand.

With more titles like Gravity Rush, Putty Squad The Next Level, Ben 10 Galactic Racing, Resistance Burning Skies, Little Big Planet, New Little Kings Story being released in 2012 there will be much joy for PS Vita owners. It has also been confirmed that titles such as Assassins Creed, Bioshock, Call of Duty, and Resistance: Burning Skies being released on the PS Vita.
PlayStation Vita Features
The Vita is backwards compatible with PlayStation Portable games that have been digitally released on PlayStation Network through the PlayStation Store. The Vita also supports PlayStation Suite games, PlayStation minis, comics and videos from PlayStation Store and PSOne Classics.
The PS Vita’s social networking applications, Facebook, Flickr and Twitter are teamed with Vita unique apps such as ‘Near’, ‘Party’ and ‘Live Area’ for connecting to other gamers. The ‘cross platform play’ feature enables gamers to play on the PS Vita while on the move and continue playing when home on their PS3.
