Telstra Prepaid 4G WiFi Hotspot MF91

Telstra 4G is now available in prepaid WiFi. From today Telstra has launched Australia’s first prepaid 4G Wifi hotspot. You are able to purchase this pre paid wifi 4G device for $169 and you’ll get a bonus of 5GB of included data to use in Australia. This included data will last for 30 days.

This Telstra prepaid 4G device, the ZTE MF91, gives you greater freedom to connect to the people, experiences and events that are important to you. There are no bills or fixed term contracts as this is 4G prepaid broadband, you simply recharge your Telstra prepaid internet and once you’ve used your prepaid credit, you recharge your service.

The Telstra Prepaid W-Fi 4G is the next generation of mobile Wi-Fi router that connects up to 5 Wi-Fi enabled devices to Telstra’s 4G Network. With 4G speeds up to 40Mbps, typical download speeds of 20Mbps. This device will also use Telstra’s superb Next G network outside of 4G coverage areas. As with the above and the fact that this device will deliver low latency and a better network experience all combine to provide superior mobile broadband service.

The modem supports dual band LTE, quad band GSM and tri band UMTS. The MF91 will accept a micro SD memory card up to 32GB in size.

Setup is easy with the user manual is available from the device web interface. Simply connect via Wi-Fi go to 192.168.0.1 to view the web client. By default the Admin login password is ‘password’. By default the WiFi SSID, TPP4G, and password are displayed on the main display. They are also printed on the label underneath the battery and on the security card provided in the box.
