Angry Birds Star Wars

With Star Wars back in the press after being acquired by Disney, and Angry Birds still remaining one of the most popular casual games available today, it was perhaps inevitable that Angry Birds Star Wars would soon be released.

Is this latest game a shallow attempt to capitalize on the popularity of two huge properties? Some might think so, but they might be forgetting exactly how great Rovio’s previous Angry Birds installments have been. Rovio has taken the simple concept of flinging birds at unstable structures with a slingshot to knock them down and added new elements of strategy to each installment. The Angry Birds games keep getting better, so it stands to reason that Angry Birds Star Wars could very well be the most memorable version yet.

One of the most exciting elements about Angry Birds Star Wars is that it’s not just Angry Birds with a Star Wars theme attached to it. Each of the main characters of the first movie (that’s Episode IV to you) are represented in bird form, and they each have abilities that fit their movie counterpart. Luke has a lightsaber, Obi-Wan Kenobi moves things with the Force and Han Solo blasts things with lasers, just to name a few examples. The story is also a loose retelling of the movie, something else that is sure to give Star Wars fans something to love.

Angry Birds Star Wars has been available since November 8th, and it can be played on Windows, Mac, iOS and Android devices. Download it on your preferred platform and see for yourself what Star Wars and Angry Birds are like together. Watch the Star Wars Angry Birds railer below.
