Kogan Mobile SIM card
Australia has a new mobile network provider, this new kid on the virtual mobile network block is Kogan Mobile. A virtual mobile network operator is a mobile company that does not have its own network but utilises the network of another company. Crazy John’s and Virgin are virtual mobile network operators with Crazy John’s using the Vodafone network and Virgin using the Optus network. Kogan Mobile is the first mobile virtual network operator to use part of Telstra’s network. Kogan Mobile does not support 4G, currently it is a 3G only network.
Kogan Mobile’s network operates on the 850MHz frequency band as Next G but the network is capped at a peak download speed of 7.2Mbps and upload speeds of 300kbps-1Mbps with typical real-world speeds experienced between 550kbps and 3Mbps. Kogan Mobile provide a 3G coverage footprint of 97 per cent of the Australian population, covering more than 960,000 square kilometres.
Kogan Mobile’s prepaid mobile plans or pay as you go plans represent great value. Starting at $29 which will last for 30 days you get unlimited calls within Australia, unlimited voice mail within Australia, unlimited national sms and mms, and a massive 6GB of data per month.
If you do a $79 recharge this credit will last you for 90 days and again you get you get unlimited calls within Australia, unlimited voice mail within Australia, unlimited national sms and mms, and a massive 6GB of data per month.
Do a $299 recharge and you will get you get unlimited calls within Australia, unlimited voice mail within Australia, unlimited national sms and mms, and a massive 6GB of data per month this will last you for 365 days.
Data wise, Kogan Mobile offers a prepaid mobile broadband deal where a $9.99 recharge will give you 2GB of data that will last for 30 days, however this plan does not include sms or calls as it is a mobile broadband plan only.
Kogan Mobile can provide standard sim cards, micro sim cards and nano sim cards, which allows Kogan to cater to every smartphone and mobile phone available. So you can have iphone prepaid or any number of pprepaid mobiles with Kogan.
