So your broadband contract with your previous provider has run out. Fed up with their less-than-stellar speeds, you’ve decided a Telstra bundle is the way to go because, let’s face it, they do spruik that their network is the best in Australia. You need a home phone because you’re sick of always taking calls on your mobile at a high rate or just fed up with using your old iphone 4 all the time. Telstra has conveniently bundled both together in the aptly name Home Bundles, and if you’re extra keen on new content and don’t fancy streaming all the series you follow (or just want to catch up with the Kardashians every day) they have partnered with Foxtel to provide you with the Supreme Bundles which provide the Foxtel service through Telstra.
Both the Home Bundles (Home Phone + Broadband) and the Supreme Bundles (Home Phone +Broadband + Foxtel) come in four levels of the plan: S, M, L, and XL, and you are locked in on a 24 month contract. The broadband may be ADSL, Cable or Velocity and there is a one off broadband activation fee of $59 across all the plans if you are a new Telstra broadband customer. If you go over your broadband data allowance for the month you won’t get charged extra but your speed will slow to 256kbps. For the Foxtel plans you will also pay a $75 installation fee and a $75 iqHD set top box fee. Whew! That’s all the upfront information you need, now onto the plans.
For each plan you get the following calls from your home phone:
– Unlimited local calls
– To 13 numbers 35/c per call
– International Saver rates
– For the XL package your international rates are even better on the International Ultimate Rates
All Telstra bundles include the following:
Family Calls Benefit
Telstra’s Family Calls Benefit lets you make unlimited voice calls (within Australia) between your home phone and up to four eligible mobiles on the same bill.
Peace of Mind Commitment
As a Telstra bundle customer you get a home broadband top-up three times a year to keep you going if you have reached your monthly usage allowance. All you need is to contact Telstra to get your top-up.
Mobile Bundle Bonus
Add $50 of bonus allowance per service for up to four of your family’s eligible Telstra Post-Paid mobile plans each month. All of your mobile plans must be on the same single bill as your bundle to be eligible for the Mobile Bundle Bonus. Your bonus allowance can be used for calls and SMS to standard Australian numbers. (Excludes use overseas)

L Supreme Bundle: same rates to add on to the L Home Bundle as the M Supreme Bundle
XL Home Bundle – 500GB broadband – $150 p/month
This is the same package as the M Home Bundle but with an extra 400GB of broadband data.
Best for: Those who need a heavy internet service, for users who are online a large percentage of the day and do a lot of downloading daily streaming/downloads (recommended for those with teenagers!) and/or make a lot of international calls from their home phone

As you can see there is a plan for everyone! My advice after having a think about the above packages is to call with a Telstra internet bundle in mind and they will be able to work everything out to suit your needs.
