Telstra’s current range of mobile plans are called Go Mobile Plus plans. These can be 24 month phone plans, 24 month swap plans, 12 month BYO plans or casual month to month plans. All Telstra’s plans have extra data which means if you go over your plan allowance for data you will only be charged $10 per extra GB.
All plans ie Go Mobile Plus, Go Mobile Swap Plans, Go Mobile Plus BYO Plans and Go Mobile Plus Casual Plans include the following.
Live sport. Data-free: You can watch every AFL, NRL and Netball game live and data-free this season. Telstra mobile This is accessed through the AFL app, NRL app or Netball Live app.
Free Wi-Fi with Telstra Air: You can access free Wi-Fi data at any one of the more than 1,000,000 Telstra Air hotspots across Australia, and 19 million Fon Spots overseas. This indludes aata-free music streaming/
Apple Music: You can have 6 months Apple Music membership. This is exclusive to Telstra mobile plan customers. Music streaming via Apple Music is unmetered, meaning it will not count towards your data allowance. Video streaming and non-music content will incur data charges. This is for use in Australia.
Free 200GB cloud storage subscription: Eligible Telstra customers can access the cloud with Microsoft OneDrive. This offer can be redeemed only once per customer account. Data charges do apply.
Enjoy two new release rentals: You can get two new release rentals from Telstra to use within your first month after registering. You must register for BigPond Movies through the Telstra TV App before 31 December 2017 and be a new BigPond Movies customer.
Telstra Go Mobile Plus Phone Plans
Telstra’s Go Mobile Plus phone plans come with a subsidised phone and are 24 month plans. All of these plans include unlimited calls and sms for national calls which are calls and sms made to standard Australian numbers. At the end of the 24 months the phone is yours and you get to keep it which differs from the Go Mobile Plus Swap plan. The phone payments are subsidised by way of a monthly credit and if you cancel your plan before the 24 months have passed, the remaining handset payments will be higher as you’ll no longer receive a credit.
The prices listed below are for the just the plans there is also a cost of the phone to pay each month (until the 24months is over). Some phones will be $0 per month on each plan while other phones incur a monthly cost on top of the plan

Currently Telstra is including bonus data on the large plan and up. On the large plan you get 20GB of data. Some folks will have no trouble using this data on their phone while other people wont use as much. And this is where it gets more interesting with data sharing. If you have two or more phones on the same account they can pool the data of their individual plans. So if you have two large plans you would have 40GB per month to use between both phones. One phone might use 30GB and the other phone can use 10GB for the month. You also have the option of adding for $5 per month a data share SIM for your tablet or mobile broadband modem to access this pool of data. This would be especially useful of you were on the XXL or Premium plans. This applies to the Mobile Plus Plans, the Mobile pLus Swap plans, The Mobile Plus BYO plans and the Mobile plus casual plans.
The $99 and higher plans include unlimited calls and text to 15 international countries while you are in Australia. Included are unlimited international calls and SMS from Australia to standard fixed and mobile numbers in Bangladesh, Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Lebanon, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, UK, USA and Vietnam.
International Day Pass
The International Day Pass on the $59, $79 and $99 plans will let you keep international roaming costs to a minimum. When you’re overseas you will be charged a flat rate for each day you use your service in an eligible country. The rates to New Zealand are $5 per day and $10 to other eligible countries.
Included value: Unlimited voice calls to and from standard numbers (includes landline & standard mobile phones). Unlimited SMS to standard numbers. Data allowance of 100MB per day (Expires daily, based on AEST)
Excess data: If you go over your daily data allowance before your Day Pass expires, Telstra will automatically add 500MB for $10 available for use in eligible countries within 31 days from when it was added.
International Roaming inclusions for the XL plan: 1GB + unlimited calls & SMS to standard numbers for use in Eligible Countries.
International Roaming inclusions for the XXL plan: 2GB + unlimited calls & SMS to standard numbers for use in Eligible Countries.
International Roaming inclusions for the Premium plan: 4GB + unlimited calls & SMS to standard numbers for use while in Eligible Countries.
Data used in excess of your monthly roaming data allowance will be charged at 3c per MB.

Stay Connected $15 per month.
The Go Mobile Plus phone plans offer the option of having Stay Connected. StayConnected is an exchange and replacement service providing protection for your mobile phone. Should your phone be damaged, lost or stolen then utilise your Stay Connected and a replacement phone will dispatched the next business day. Using the Stay Connected App you can restore your data on your replacement phone when it arrives. A service fee of up to $220 will apply. You can have up to 2 swaps per 12 months. Stay Connected swaps are performed over the phone not in store. Stay connected is not part of your contract and can be cancelled at any time.
Stay Connected also includes technical support over the phone by one of Stay Connected Tech experts. This premium mobile tech support and coaching is conducted over the phone by a local tech expert. This service is available during the following hours:
- 7am to 11pm Monday to Friday (AEDST).
- 8am to 10pm Saturday and Sunday (AEDST).
New phone feeling
The Go Mobile Plus 24 month plans include New Phone Feeling. You can redeem your New Phone when you hit the 12 month mark of your contract. This allows you to recontract to a new 24 month plan with a new phone for just $149. That’s all you pay, Telstra will waive the remaining payments on your existing handset. You’ll also need to return your existing device in working order within 14 days of recontracting. Your phone needs to be in good condition in order for you to redeem you New Phone Feeling.
Foxtel Now
The $79 and up plan include Foxtel Now starter packs free for 12 months. Foxtel Now has five different entry level tiers to match your interests. These packs include: Drama and Pop packs, the Lifestyle pack, Docos pack, or Kids pack. These pack give you access to the latest TV shows, documentaries, kids programs and lifestyle content. Data charges apply as streaming Foxtel Now is not unmetered. However the plans do include a lot of data.
With a $79 or $99 plan, you get 1 Foxtel Now Starter Pack for free for 12 months. Valued at up to $180 when purchased separately.
With the $129 plan, you get 2 Foxtel Now Starter Packs for free for 12 months, this is valued at up to $300 if you buy these separately separately.
With a $149 or $199 plan, you get 3 Foxtel Now Starter Packs for free for 12 months and this is valued at up to $420.
Telstra Go Mobile Plus Swap plans
The Go Mobile Plus Swap Plans are known as swap plans. You are not buying the phone on a Swap Plan, you are leasing the device. If you love having the newest mobile phonet then leasing your device on a swap plan might be the option for you. With a 24 month lease plans you don’t own the phone. You make monthly lease payments and at the end of the lease, you simply return the phone in good working order.

Swap Plan lease payments for the phone are up to $10 less per month compared to some Go Mobile Plus handset and plans. You have the option to upgrade at any time after the first year. You resign to a new 24-month handset and service plan and return your current phone.
As long as your phone is in good working order, you only pay $99 to upgrade. There can additional fees apply if you cancel early and don’t return your phone or if your phone has been lost, stolen or damaged. You must return the phone in an locked state.
If you’re on a lease plan and your phone is lost or stolen or you damage the phone, you can still upgrade after 12 months. If your phone has a cracked screen, you can upgrade for $229. If your phone can’t be fixed, you can upgrade for $499.
But Telstra offers a product they call Assure. Assure can be added to your plan for just $10 per month. Assure lets you to upgrade your damaged phone at any time and in any condition for a flat fee of $190 when you sign up to a new 24 month handset and service plan.
International Monthly Calls and SMS from Australia
As with the Go Mobile PLus plans if you have a $99, $129, $149 or premium Plan, it includes unlimited international calls and SMS from Australia to standard fixed and mobile numbers in Bangladesh, Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Lebanon, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, UK, USA and Vietnam
International Day Pass
The International Day Pass on the $59, $79 and $99 plans is the same as the Go mobile Plus Phone plans. As is the included value for the higher teir plans and the eligible countries are the same.
International Roaming inclusions for the XL plan: 1GB + unlimited calls & SMS to standard numbers for use in Eligible Countries.

The $129 plan currently will get you 2 Foxtel Now Starter Packs for free for 12 months, again valued at up to $300 if you buy these separately.
Included at the moment on the $149 or $199 plan, you get 3 Foxtel Now Starter Packs for free for 12 months and this is valued at up to $420 over the 12 month period.
Telstra Go Mobile Plus BYO Plans
The Go Mobile Plus BYO plans are Telstra SIM only plans and are contracted for 12 months. The MX plan is available online only and there is no in store support for this plan it is all done online as this is an “online and save plan”.
The $39 S plan will get you $500 worth of calls each month and unlimited sms to Australian numbers and 2GB data per month.
The MX and higher plans all have unlimited calls and text in Australia with unlimited international calls to the usual 15 countries being included on the $79 and $99 plans.

Telstra Go Mobile Plus Casual Plans
The Go Mobile Plus Casual plans are SIM only plans that area month to month plans with no lock in contract. The pricing is similar to the BYO plan costs but are $10 dearer, you’re paying for not having a contract.
The $49 S plan will get you $500 worth of calls each month and unlimited sms to Australian numbers and 2GB data per month.
The $69 and higher plans all have unlimited calls and text in Australia with unlimited international calls to the usual 15 countries being included on the $89 and $109 plans.
There are no Foxtel Now free packs on the casual plans and no international roaming inclusions.

Foxtel Now lets you stream the latest TV shows, movies, sport, news on your device when you are at home or out on-the-go. You can watch shows from the US and UK, HBO dramas, Foxtel original shows.
There are five Foxtel now Starter packs. You can choose from Drama, Lifestyle , Pop, Kids and Doco Starter Packs. These give access to over 65 channels.
