Foxtel and Microsoft have announced that Australian customers soon will have the ability be able to watch Foxtel using their Xbox 360 and the Xbox Live service. This will be a totally new method of receiving Foxtel, directly over the internet.
The Foxtel channels in the Xbox Live service will include Discovery, Nickelodeon, MTV, Disney, FOX Sports and more channels. The channels will be available via customers Xbox 360 entertainment console.
Additionally Foxtel by Xbox Live will also allow for Video-on-Demand (VoD) services, including television series and movies. This will be available without having a Foxtel set-top-box. This service will be availale to any Australian home that has a broadband internet connection, an Xbox 360, an Xbox Gold subscription and a Foxtel by Xbox Live subscription.
The new service will be launched towards the end of 2010, prices and packaging will be announced closer to the launch date.
