Telstra has grandfathered the Telstra Pre-Paid Max offer and has added the Telstra Pre-Paid Complete. The Telstra Pre-Paid Long Life Plus remains as is.

Telstra Pre-Paid Complete

Here is information on Telstra’s new Prepaid Complete plan or offer. ‘Value-packed recharges’ is how Telstra describe the Prepaid Complete.

This Telstra prepaid offer has the following features when you are using your service within Australia:

·         Unlimited Calls, Text, MMS & Messagebank retrieval to standard Australian numbers included in all recharge amounts.

·         The Prepaid Complete also includes Telstra Prepaid’s Data Bank, where you can save up to 200GB of unused data when you recharge before expiry.

·         Data-free sports streaming on $30 and over recharges.

·         Data-free music streaming of Apple Music. Additional subscription charges apply

·         Free Telstra Air Wi-Fi. When you have an active recharge you can access free Wi-Fi data at Telstra Air hotspots in Australia and Fon spots overseas.

·         Standard international call minutes to selected destinations. This applies to recharges of $30 or more and included call minutes are consumed in 60 second blocks.

·         Text to cost international numbers: 20c/text. This applies to recharges of $30 or more.

·         MMS cost to international numbers 75c/MMS. This applies to recharges of $30 or more.

·         Extra Credit for calls & text to standard international numbers, Premium SMS in Australia, and standard calls, text and data usage while overseas. This applies to recharges of $30 or more, except the overseas calls made while overseas.

The Telstra Prepaid Complete has recharge amounts of $10, $30, $40, $50, $60, $150 and $300.

With a $10 recharge you will get unlimited calls, text (sms), MMS & messagebank retrieval to Australian numbers, 1GB of data, and a 7 day expiry. There are no international calls or extra credit included in a $10 recharge. These inclusions apply while you are in Australia.

With a $30 recharge you will get unlimited calls, text (sms), MMS & messagebank retrieval to Australian numbers, 8GB of data, and a 28 day expiry. There are up to 300 minutes of international calls for zone 1 and up to 60 minutes of international call minutes for zone 2 countries included in the $30 recharge. You will also get $5 of extra credit included in a $30 recharge. These inclusions apply while you are in Australia.

With a $40 recharge you will get unlimited calls, text (sms), MMS & messagebank retrieval to Australian numbers, 18GB of data, and a 28 day expiry. There are up to 500 minutes of international calls for zone 1 and up to 100 minutes of international call minutes for zone 2 countries included in the $40 recharge. You will also get $10 of extra credit included in a $40 recharge. These inclusions apply while you are in Australia.

A $50 recharge on the Prepaid Complete will get you will get unlimited calls, text (sms), MMS & messagebank retrieval to Australian numbers, 28GB of data, and a 28 day expiry. There are up to 1000 minutes of international calls for zone 1 and up to 150 minutes of international call minutes for zone 2 countries included in the $50 recharge. You will also get $15 of extra credit included in a $50 recharge. And again these inclusions apply while you are in Australia.

A $60 recharge on the Prepaid Complete will get you will get unlimited calls, text (sms), MMS & messagebank retrieval to Australian numbers, 38GB of data, and a 28 day expiry. We were unable to find information on international call and message inclusions for the $60 recharge. You will also get $20 of extra credit included in a $60 recharge. And these inclusions apply while you are in Australia.

A $150 recharge on the Prepaid Complete will get you will get unlimited calls, text (sms), MMS & messagebank retrieval to Australian numbers, 60GB of data, and a 186 day expiry. There are up to 3000 minutes of international calls for zone 1 and up to 350 minutes of international call minutes for zone 2 countries included in the $150 recharge. You will also get $50 of extra credit included in a $150 recharge. All these inclusions apply while you are in Australia.

A $300 recharge on the Prepaid Complete will get you will get unlimited calls, text (sms), MMS & messagebank retrieval to Australian numbers, 150GB of data, and a 365 day expiry. There are up to 6000 minutes of international calls for zone 1 and up to 800 minutes of international call minutes for zone 2 countries included in the $300 recharge. You will also get $100 of extra credit included in a $300 recharge. All these inclusions apply while you are in Australia.

International Calling on Telstra’s Prepaid Complete:

Telstra has two international call zones included on its Prepaid Complete plan. These are called Zone 1 and Zone 2. Included call minutes are consumed in 60 second blocks.

Telstra’s international calling Zone 1 countries include: Canada, China, Denmark, Germany, Guam, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Norway, Puerto Rico, Romania, Singapore, South Korea, UK, USA, Vietnam

Telstra Pre-Paid Long Life Plus

Telstra’s Pre-Paid Long Life Plus seems to be aimed at people who are low volume phone users. There is no unlimited call inclusions on the Long Life Plus and Data is not included in any of the Long Life Plus recharges. The benefit of the Long Life Plus is much longer credit expiry times.

Data is charged at the rate of 10c per 1MB this is also rounded up so if you use 0.2MB you will be charged at the rate of 1MB.

Pre-Paid Long Life Plus Standard Call Inclusions

There are no unlimited standard calls with the Long Life Plus. Calls are charged at the rate of 30c per minute or part of a minute (there appears to be no call connection fee). So a 1 minute and 10 second call will use 60c worth of credit.

Pre-Paid Long Life Plus International Call Inclusions

There are no unlimited international calls with the Long Life Plus. Calls are charged at the international rate of the country you are calling. SMS messages to international numbers cost 35c per text and MMS to international numbers cost 75c per MMS.

Pre-Paid Long Life Plus Recharge Inclusions

The recharge amount options for the Prepaid Max are as follows: $20, $30, $50, $70 and $100. If you recharge before your expiry date and you can roll over your unused recharge credit, to use within your next recharge period.

A $20 Long Life Plus prepaid recharge has a 45 day expiry period includes $20 of Credit. Included with the $20 Long Life Plus recharge is free Telstra Air Wi-Fi. This recharge also includes, data-free sports streaming and data-free music streaming of Apple Music. Additional Apple subscription charges apply.

A $30 Long Life Plus prepaid recharge has a 45 day expiry period includes $30 of Credit. Included with the $30 Long Life Plus recharge is free Telstra Air Wi-Fi. Prepaid Mobile Update March 2020

Since we last looked at Telstra’s prepaid plans and offers they have been updated. On 26th Feb 2019 Telstra launched the Prepaid Max and the Long life plus plans and grandfathered the Prepaid Extra, Day2Day, Long Life and their Simplicity prepaid plans and offers. What this means is that these offers are no longer offered for new activations or new prepaid mobile connections. If you have one of these offers you will remain on that offer. You are able to change to a newer offer should they suit you but once you move you will not be able to change back to a grandfathered plan. Currently Telstra has just two prepaid plans, the Telstra Pre-Paid Max and the Telstra Pre-Paid Long Life Plus.

Pre-Paid Max Standard Call Inclusions

Telstra’s Prepaid Max plan has quite a few standard inclusions that you get as part of a normal recharge. With each recharge you get unlimited calls to Australian standard numbers (fixed line and mobile), you also get unlimited SMS and MMS (MultiMedia Messages) to Australian standard numbers.

Pre-Paid Max International Call Inclusions

Telstra also includes unlimited international calls to Brazil, China, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Thailand, UK, USA and also Vietnam with each recharge.

International SMS and MMS messages are not part of your recharge inclusions and are charged at the rate of 20c per SMS and 75c per MMS.

Calls costs to other international countries are charged at different rates and can be viewed at Telstra’s website.

Pre-Paid Max Data Bank

With Telstra’s Pre-Paid Max you can save up to 200GB of unused data when you recharge $10 or more before your credit expires. You will need an active recharge to access this data bank.  If you credit expires you lose your data bank data.

Pre-Paid Max Extra Credit

The recharge amount options for the Prepaid Max are as follows: $10, $30, $40, $50, $60, $150 and $300. These recharge options have different expiry lengths and have different data inclusions and different Extra Credit inclusions. Extra Credit is used for calls and text to international numbers, international roaming and for Premium SMS.

Pre-Paid Max Recharge Inclusions

The Pre-Paid max recharge inclusions are all for use when in Australia. The Extra Credit can be used for roaming. Your recharge credit and Extra Credit can be used overseas to selected countries.

 Telstra’s Prepaid Extra plans come in a range of options depending on how much data you use each month. The $30 plan with 2.5GB data is excellent for users who want phone access but do not use much data each month. The next step up is $40 with 5GB data include a $50GB plan with 7.5GB and for those who are data hungry there is a $60 plan with 10GB of data. Users get $5, $10, $15 and $20 bonus credit for each respective plan. Plans from $40 plus come with unlimited international calls from 10 destinations (With three new destinations added when you recharge before 30th April 2018). Standard international call rates apply for the $30 plan.

National MMS is 50¢, international SMS is 20¢, and national MMS is 75¢. All services expire in 28 days from recharge. Users can save up to 50GB of data using the Data Bank service. Your first recharge receives triple the data if recharged before 26/02/2018.

Extra data packs are available for the Prepaid Extra, Prepaid Plus, and Prepaid Freedom Plus $10 with 1GB of data or $20 for 2.5GB of data.

Telstra’s Day2Day plan is for those who want to control their spending. The minimum charge is $1 a day for unlimited calls and text as well as 100MB of data. This is suited to those who which to make many calls and sms with a low data usage.

For an extra $1 a day you will receive an extra 100MB of data and unlimited calls international calls (excluding video calls) to standard international numbers in Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, New Zealand, UK and USA. Should you use more than 100MB of data per day, an additional $1 per 100MB will automatically drawn from your recharge credit balance.

Recharge costs start at a $5 for up to 5 days, $10 for up to 10 days, $20 for up to 20 days, $30 for up to 30 days and $60 for 60 days. National MMS is 50¢, international MMS is 20¢, and MMS to international numbers is 75¢.

On the Day2Day prepaid offer, $1 is drawn from your prepaid balance at the start of the day i.e. at midnight, regardless of your usage for that day. All your daily inclusions will expire each day at 11:59pm AEST. Telstra define a ‘day’ as being 12:00AM to 11:59PM (AEST) for the Day2Day offer. There is no rollover on this plan.

With Telstra’s Prepaid Long-Life plan, your credit will not expire for at least 60 days. A $20 recharge get you 60 days, $30 6 months, $40 6 months and 50 bonus Telstra Talk minutes, $50 expires in 6 months and gives you 100 minutes Telstra Talk time. The $70 option comes with 100 Telstra Talk minutes and 12 months validity. $100 recharge gives you 12 months until the plan expires and 200 minutes. A $20 or $40 recharge does not come with bonus Telstra talk but allows others to call you.

The Bonus Telstra Talk is charged in minute blocks and can be used to call standard Telstra numbers. This Bonus Telstra Talk does not roll over when recharging.

The Prepaid Long Life does not have a data allowance included with each recharge. Data is charged at Data is charged at $2 per MB and comes out of your prepaid balance.

National calls and Message Bank retrieval are 39¢ for connection and 79¢ a minute. A two-minute mobile call is $1.95. National SMS is 29¢, and national MMS is 50¢ International SMS is 34¢, and MMS is 75¢. Data is $2 per MB.

Telstra Prepaid Simplicity

 The Telstra Prepaid Simplicity plan has four different recharge values starting at $20 for 30 days and going up to $100 for 180 days. You receive a $0 connection fee with 15¢ calls per minute to standard Australian numbers. Calls within Australia and international calls are charged per minute and are charged in minute blocks. The rate for standard international numbers is 15¢. Data is 10¢ per MB and is charged per Megabyte, MB and rounded to nearest MB .

The standard unlimited international call pack includes Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, UK, and USA. Users who recharge before 30/04/2008 receive unlimited standard calls to Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Vietnam.
