The Samsung Galaxy S10 5G is Now Available in Australia

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G

Even with 5G capabilities being in an infancy stage in Australia, Samsung pushed out the recently announced Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, exclusively on contract to Telstra customers. The S10 5G was announced in February of this year at the Samsung Unpacked Event that also brought the announcements of the Galaxy Fold and S10+. The phone is the first 5G capable device released in Australia.

If you are looking to invest in the S10 5G, your wallet will be feeling a bit of a hit. For the 256 GB storage, Telstra charges you $141 a month to buy the phone on a plan over 24 months. The minimum cost here comes to $3,384. If you feel like it, you can double your storage to 512 GB for $152 a month. Over the two years to pay it off, you will have spent $3,648 for the phone and plan. You can see Telstra’s plan details here.

Only major capital city CBDs and other select high traffic areas have access to the 5G capabilities of the phone so far, but the 4GX network capabilities are available to all who early adopt the pricey phone. It boasts 8GB of RAM and a 1.9GHz Octa-core CPU. It’s available in two colours: Crown Silver and Majestic Black.

Taking advantage of the faster speeds with 5G is not the only benefit of upgrading to the S10 5G. The Cinematic Dynamic AMOLED Display is the largest Infinity-O screen yet for any Galaxy device and is the biggest Galaxy S10  series phone with a 6.7-inch display. The screen reduces blue light to relieve stress on your eyes. The phone also has Samsung’s first in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for a phone.

The camera has been kitted with four rear cameras. According to Techradar, “The first three cameras are identical to the triple-sensor setups on the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus, with a main 12MP variable-aperture camera, a 16MP 123-degree ultrawide snapper, and a 12MP telephoto lens.” The fourth is a 3D depth camera capable of measuring the distance between objects in the photo or video. It works together with the AR Intelligence to allow you to impose images of items being sold online to see how they would look in your home.

The 3D depth camera has also been added to the front of the phone sitting beside a 10MP selfie camera. It has been positioned in the top right corner of the screen much like the other S10 series phones.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 5G has a 4,500mAh battery. According to Samsung, the battery should last a good 24 hours on a single charge. The combination of the 5G capabilities, 3D and AR technologies, and more will really push the battery to the limits. Like the other Galaxy S10 series phones, it has wireless charging and power share so it can provide charging to other wireless charging phones.
