Telstra business customers now have access to an even faster performing Next G mobile broadband network courtesy of Telstra’s Ultimate USB Modem. The Telstra Ultimate modem utilises a new generation of mobile broadband technology called dual channel HSPA+ and is made by Sierra. The modem is approximately 64 x 50 x 9.5 mm and weighs in at only 55 grams.
The Ultimate USB Modem provides download speed that typically range from 1.1Mbps to 20Mbps in selected high speed areas or zones such as Australia’s capital city CBDs and their airports, selected metropolitan hubs and over 100 regional centres. These high-speed zones cover around 50 per cent of the Australian population and are located in the areas that have the highest customer demand. These speeds are up to twice as fast as Telstra’s current fastest wireless mobile broadband modem.
In other metropolitan and regional areas, the Telstra Ultimate USB Modem will give typical download speeds ranging from 550kbps up to 8Mbps, which is still quick and is significantly faster than Telstra’s mobile broadband competitors provide.
The Telstra Ultimate Modem is powered via the USB connection. This modem also features a space for a micro SD memory card, which is great when you need the modem to also perform as a memory stick for data storage.
The Telstra Ultimate USB can be had on a range of Telstra’s mobile broadband plans including for $0 upfront with a $69 plan over 24 months with the minimum total cost being $1,656 or from 5th October the device can be purchased outright for $299.
The Telstra Next G network performance just keeps on improving and thanks to the availability of this modem, Telstra’s customers can enjoy world class mobile broadband speeds. The Telstra Ultimate is beyond what is currently available from any other company in Australia.
