Nokia C6

The Nokia C6 is a touchscreen handset with a physical slide-out keyboard. The touch screen is a  resistive display that measures 3.2 inches diagonally has a resolution of 640×360 pixels. The C6 measures approximately Size: 113.4 x 53 x 16.8 mm and weighs in at 150 grams.

The full qwerty keyboard makes everyday communication such as sms, emails and facebook updates quick and easy.

The Nokia C6 is powered powered by a 434MHz processor with 128MB RAM, supports Flash Lite 3.1 in the web browser while the handset’s operating system is based on the S60 5th Edition platform which did give a certain lagginess at times.

The top of the C6 is where the 3.5mm audio jack and micro-USB port are located. The C6 charges via a 2mm connector while using the micro-USB cable lets you synchronise with a PC however the handset does not charge whilst connected via the Nokia C6’s USB cable.

The home screen can be customises with a range of live widgets including Facebook, email, news, weather and phone shortcuts. And holding down the menu button displays the application manager.

A microSD expansion card slot will support up to 16GB worth of memory. A 5-megapixel camera with an LED flash is also featured.

The C6 has quite a few connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, HSDPA, Assisted-GPS and Bluetooth stereo. This allows you to browse the web quickly via the 3G network  or by connecting  to a nearby Wi-Fi hot spot. The phone’s firmware can be updated over-the-air 3G, via the PC software or by using Wi-Fi.

The built-in GPS receiver works with Nokia’s Ovi Maps application. Ovi Maps provides free, full turn-by-turn navigation for the lifetime of the device which is a good navigation solution.

With the Nokia C6 you get easy access to your email, contacts and favourite social networks such as Facebook, Hi5, MySpace and Friendster. The C6 provides access to your email accounts such as Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo! Mail and Windows Live accounts. There are also preinstalled apps for AP Mobile, Bloomberg, CNN Video and a YouTube player.

Call audio quality is good without distortion and the 1200mAh Lithium-ion battery is rated for up to seven hours of talk time and approximately 17 days on standby.
