Vodafone have launched a new USB modem the Vodafone Mega Modem. This mibile broadband modem lets you access Vodafone’s new 850 MHz network and the device is also compatible with Vodafone’s existing networks. This USB modem will automatically select the strongest available Vodafone network to connect to giving better performance, coverage and speed. So when its not connected to the 850 network Vodafone’s Mega Modem will be connected to the 2100 MHz, 900 MHz or 1900 MHz frequencies.
You will be able to have all the benefits of Vodafone’s new 850 MHz network by using the Vodafone Mega Modem. Vodafone’s new 850 network is implemented to provide stronger signals with increased in building coverage which should mean faster internet speeds and an improved mobile broadband experience with better indoor coverage.
Although Vodafone’s 850 network is currently only available in selected metropolition areas of Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and PerthVodafone have stated that they are continuing expand this network throughout 2011.
The Mega Modem is a quad band 3G device and will operate on 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 MHz frequency bands which means you can use the device for international roaming but check out data roaming charges first.
The Mega Modem is one of the modems eligible for Vodafone’s Mobile Broadband Satisfaction Trial whereby you connect to one of Vodafone’s Mobile Broadband plans and if you’re not happy with your coverage experience you can cancel your service within 30 days.
