iPad Mini (1st Generation)

The original iPad Mini, now referred to as the iPad Mini 1, marked the debut of Apple's mini tablet computer line. Announced on October 23, 2012, it was the fourth major product in the iPad line and the first in the iPad Mini series. This device featured a 7.9-inch screen, a significant reduction from the 9.7-inch display found on standard iPads at the time.

Reviewers responded positively to the iPad Mini's compact size, design, and extensive app library. However, criticism arose over the use of a proprietary power connector, lack of expandable storage, and the underpowered Apple A5 chip paired with 512 MB RAM. The absence of a Retina display was also a notable drawback.

The first generation iPad Mini was eventually succeeded by the iPad Mini 2, which addressed some of the shortcomings of its predecessor.
