iPhone 7 Plus
Apple announced the iPhone 7 Plus on the 8th of September 2016 and the iPhone 7 Plus launch date was 16th September 2016.
Announced September 8, 2016, alongside the iPhone 7, the iPhone 7 Plus is the latest in the range of larger iPhones released by Apple. The iPhone 7 Plus is Apple's contingent in the phablet, or large smartphone, market. The size of these devices is perfect for those with larger hands, those who like to watch a lot of media on their phones, or those that treat their smartphones like a mobile office.
For those that like a big phone and are Apple aficionados, this is the ideal phone. The iPhone 7 Plus marks the third outing in the Plus series, following the iPhone 6 Plus and the iPhone 6S Plus.
New Features
The iPhone 7 Plus comes chock full of new features that may inspire Apple users who have been waning on the brand to make a new purchase. The phone is definitely one that you would be happy upgrading to if you were near the end of your contract. Although the phone looks almost identical to its last two predecessors, there are more interesting advancements afoot in other areas.
Waterproof
That's right, finally Apple have given us the gift of waterproofing in their latest models! Stepping up to come in line with both the Samsung Galaxy and the Sony Xperia, the iPhone 7 Plus is now waterproof in up to a metre of water for up to 30 minutes, and also provides protection from dust. No more sticking your iPhone in a tub of rice if it accidentally gets wet!
Headphones
The most obvious 'feature' (or should we say non-feature?) of the phone is of course the missing headphone jack. Apple have decided that enough is enough and have done away with the jack. 'But how will I listen to my music?!' you cry. Well, Bluetooth headphones have been around for years and years. Apple have decided that it's about darn time that we should all pick them up and get rid of our tangled cords for good - or switch over to headphones that use their proprietary Lightning port.
The iPhone 7S Plus comes standard with their headphones the EarPods, which do in fact plug straight into the Lightning port, as well as an adapter so you can use your old headphones with the Lightning port too. On the Bluetooth side, Apple are releasing AirPods, which look exactly like your EarPods but are cordless.
Camera
The iPhone 7 Plus 12MP camera now comes with dual cameras for wide angle or telephoto shots and optical zoom. It also has optical image stabilisation, f/1.8 aperture and a Quad-LED True Tone flash which keeps it firmly staked as one of the most impressive cameras on the market. There's also the improved 7MP front facing camera for making the most out of FaceTime or selfies.
Power and Battery
The iPhone 7 Plus boasts a battery life that lasts up to 1 hour longer than its predecessor, the iPhone 6s Plus. This extended battery life is a significant improvement for users who rely heavily on their device throughout the day.
Battery Life Details
In terms of specific usage, the iPhone 7 Plus offers up to 21 hours of talk time on 3G, and up to 16 days of standby time. Internet use yields up to 13 hours on both 3G and LTE, and up to 15 hours on Wi-Fi. The device also supports up to 14 hours of wireless video playback and up to 60 hours of wireless audio playback.
